I came across a coveted Rolleiflex medium format film camera at a local shop and immediately started obsessing over it’s history. The Rolleiflex is a TLR film camera. The model that I have is presumably from around 1965, it’s fully mechanical, durable, and timeless. There are so many fascinating historical photographers who shot with a Rolleiflex. The one that caught my attention was Vivian Maier, a Chicago nanny who’s work was discovered post-humous at an estate auction. If you’re interested in film photography, I highly recommend checking out her story!
I’ve come to love the slower process of film photography and I really enjoy using it in addition to my digital offerings. These medium format film portrait sessions feel so good, I love the grainy, warm colors of the film. I’m looking forward to continuing my film journey.
